Would
you like to attract employees who will “fit” well in your
organization? Would you like job seekers to know about your culture before you recruit, test, hire and train them? Would you like to attract employees who will be moving to the Sheboygan area? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we can help. First, we can help you assess your organization by conducting an employee survey. The standard survey includes 45 questions that relate to the following topics. Belonging Do employees feel like they “belong” in your organization? Do they connect with their coworkers? Do they have a good relationship with their supervisors? Are they proud to tell others that they “belong” to your organization? Commitment Are your employees committed to the success of your company? Or are they only committed to receiving a paycheck? If they were offered employment elsewhere, would they be likely to take it? Or are they committed to giving their best to your organization? Compensation Do your employees believe they are fairly compensated for their efforts? Do they believe that their benefits are comparable to those of other employers? Confidence in Leadership Do employees believe that top management is concerned about the employee’s welfare? Is there adequate communication? Is management responsive to suggestions? Effective Recruiter Are your employees effective recruiters for your organization? When job seekers have multiple job opportunities, they will ask your current employees if they are happy working for your organization. If your employees are enthusiastic about your organization, they will recruit for you, saving you money and time. Fairness Are employees treated fairly? Is upper management concerned about fairness? Are promotions and terminations handled fairly? Feeling Valued Do your employees know they are valued? Do supervisors and top management make a point of reinforcing this to the employees? Employees who know they are valued are much less likely to leave the organization for a more lucrative offer. Friendly Atmosphere Is your workplace friendly? Do people enjoy their coworkers? Do departments work well together? Is there a friendly atmosphere that encourages employees at all levels to voice their opinions and suggestions? Fulfilling Work Are your employees bored with their work? Do they feel the organization provides a meaningful product or service? Does their work provide a sense of accomplishment? Opportunity for Growth Do your employees have opportunities to advance in your organization? Are they encouraged to improve their skills? Are they given opportunities on the job to develop new skills or take on added responsibility? Recognition When employees do exceptional work, are they recognized for it? Do supervisors and management encourage suggestions? Do they recognize the employees who put forth the extra effort? Security Do employees feel that their jobs are secure? Do they spend time worrying about and discussing possible layoffs with their coworkers? Senior-Friendly Do you try to retain your older employees? Do you encourage them to work beyond age 65? Supervision How do your employees feel about their supervisors? Are they fair? Do they trust the employees? Do they clearly communicate their expectations? Trust Is there a mutual atmosphere of trust in your organization? Do managers trust subordinates to do a good job without constant supervision? Do employees trust that the company will treat them fairly? Work/Life Balance Does your organization try to help employees balance the demands of their work and personal lives? Do you expect employees to routinely work overtime? After the survey is completed and the results tabulated, you will receive a summary report. This report will include responses to each question, as well as a total score for each category. If you are pleased with the results, we will include them on our www.the-right-fit.com website. If you’re not pleased, we can provide a list of ideas that may help increase the scores on future tests. What if you don’t score high in all categories? No problem. In fact, a variance of scores will help you prescreen job seekers. Consider a job seeker who has a high need for recognition. He or she will never be happy in a culture where recognition is rare. It is better for both employer and employee to know that before either spends time, money, and energy interviewing, negotiating, and training the new employee. Sound intriguing?
